Staying at the Bellagio for Free without Credit Card Points

My daughters and I just came back from our spooky season themed trip in Las Vegas. We love ghosts and all things paranormal in our house, so when my daughter suggested we go to Zak Bagan’s haunted museum in Las Vegas I jumped on the idea because I knew I could get our room for free. So we headed to Vegas for a quick day and a half trip.

How to get a Vegas Room for Free:

You could always get a free room with credit card points and miles, but DO NOT waste your points when you can get a room for free just for playing a game on your phone.

You will need to download TWO free apps:

  1. MGM Rewards app- create an account with them
  2. myVegas Slots app- there are many different myVegas games but this one is the easiest to earn points on

*** Once you have both accounts you will then link both of them

Once you have done the above, you will log in daily and play. You can do one of the following two: 1) log in once and collect your free 400 daily loyalty points 2) log in and play until you reach your daily limit of loyalty points which is about 2,000 to 3,000 points.

The way the game works is they give you chips daily for free and you use those chips on the slot machine of your choice. Once you hit the wager amount they require it’ll give you loyalty points. The more you play, the more loyalty points you can earn. Those loyalty points are what you need to book rooms. The best feature of the the game is that you don’t actually have to be playing the game to earn the loyalty points. All you do is choose a slots game and then hold down the auto spin button and it’ll play by itself while you watch tv or do chores.

If you run out of free chips you can buy more to keep earning loyalty points, but DO NOT do that. You can just earn as many loyalty points as you can per day with the free chips and then log in again the next day to get more. They also offer the option of watching an ad and they’ll give you more chips to play. Basically what I’m saying is DO NOT every buy chips because then otherwise your room is not free.

You are only allowed to book one room per trip, but if both you and your player 2 get the app then you can stay 2 nights for free in this way. My Vegas crew is my dad, my husband, and me. So in our case we could get a 3 night stay for free by booking our days back to back.

To stay at the Excalibur hotel for free you just need 15,000 points, which can be earned in less than a month of playing. Remember, just for logging in daily you get 400 points. But if you’re looking for fancier stays you can earn more points and book fancier hotels.

When me and my daughters went for our spooky trip we were able to stay at the Bellagio for the first time ever. It’s always been out of my budget, but now that I’m not paying cash, it was my goal to stay there. This stay cost 150,000 points. I worked all summer to earn those points. When we got there we were given one of the remodeled rooms with the greatest view of the strip, the Bellagio fountains, and the new sphere.

Booking With Your Loyalty Points

The booking process was very easy and straightforward. When you have enough points to book you will go into the myVegas Slots game and click on your loyalty points and then click on “see rewards”. Then click on “partners” and find the hotel you want to stay at and click on it. Read all of the fine print! Some prizes have specific rules. Once you’re ready to book, hit the confirm button and they will send you an email with the instructions on how to book. Stays are only available from Sunday-Thursday. I redeemed my points and received my instructions on how to book the same day. It was a quick turnaround.

Our Spooky Trip:

The whole purpose of this trip was to go Zak Bagan’s Haunted Museum, but when I was trying to purchase the tickets I saw that they have a strict policy of no one under 15 years of age. I had to pivot and find other things for us to do.

We crammed all of this into our day and still had time to hang by the pool at the Bellagio:

  • Seven Magic Mountain Rocks
  • The Welcome to Las Vegas sign
  • Saint Honore Doughnuts and Beignets- Great donuts! A must. Be there early because there will be a long line.
  • Tom Devlin’s Monster Museum- Cute museum! My daughter’s and I loved the photo opportunities and the suspense of what might pop up around the next corner.
  • Nightmare Toys Store- Lots of scary Funko Pops and t shirts if you’re a horror fan. We picked up a Halloween tree ornament for our house as a memory.
  • Sliced Pizza Parlor- Great photo opportunities. The wings were amazing. Highly recommended. We bought a whole pizza thinking we were hungry but the pizza slices are huge. Maybe stick to buying them by the slice. NOT A PLACE FOR LITTLE KIDS because they play horror movies on multiple tv’s around the place and they show everything!
  • Gangsters, Glitz, and Gore Ghost Tour- It was a walking tour purchased through Viator. It was interesting to hear stories about the different Vegas hotels but it was NOT scary at all.

This strategy is a great way to add some more travel adventures and make memories with your family or friends
