3 Things You Can Do in the Chase Message Center

Ask and you shall receive. It should be your motto in life in general, but it should especially be your motto in your points journey. Don’t be afraid to ask credit card companies, hotels, or airlines for things. The worst thing that can happen is that they say no, and the best thing that could happen is that you get exactly what you were asking for.

How to Send Chase a Secure Message:

To message Chase you would log in to your Chase account, click on your profile, then click on secure message center, and compose your message. They have a quick turn around and will usually respond by the next day at the latest.

The setting choices in order to be able to type a message instead of being given a number to call are: 1) I have a question about one of my accounts 2) choose the credit card that applies 2) account inquiry 4) type your message

Below is what you can ask Chase for and what to type in order to receive it :)

3 things you can ask for in the Chase secure message center:

  1. 2 Day Express Shipping on your card
    • Why you would want this: You want to get your credit card as soon as possible because the 90 day clock to meet your minimum spend starts the day you are APPROVED for the card, not the day you receive and activate it. If you wait to receive it in normal time it can take 5-10 days to get to you. That’s wasted time you could have been using your normal spend towards your minimum spend. So its important to get it faster to maximize your normal expenses.
    • What to say: I was just recently approved for a XXX card and I was wondering if I could get it shipped to me through Express Mail? I have an urgent purchase to make for my business and I would like to charge it to this credit card. Thank you.
  2. Shift Around Credit Limits
    • Why you would want this: If you have more than one Ink card you can transfer credit limits between cards. You want to do this when you have a big expense coming up that you want to pay for using your Ink card. If you are applying for Ink business cards with your social security number because you have a side hustle, you will most likely only be approved for a few thousand dollars. For example, on my first Ink card I was approved for $3,000. On my most recent one I was also approved for $3,000. I want to pay my $4,000 property taxes with my Ink card so that I can use that cost toward my minimum spend. If I don’t call to move around credit limits I won’t be able to use my Ink card to make that payment. So moving $2,000 from my first Ink card to my newest one will allow me to now have a $5,000 credit limit on my newest Ink card.
    • What to say: Hi, I recently opened my XXX card and have a big expense coming up for my business. Can I please move $0.000 from my credit limit on my XXX card to my newest XXXX card so that I can make the purchase. Thank you.
  3. Match Elevated Bonuses
    • Why you would want this: Sometimes we open credit cards and then an unexpected elevated bonus happens. In this event, do not take the loss. Message them as soon as possible asking them to match the elevated bonus. This happened to me recently when I applied for the Ink Cash card with a welcome bonus of 75,000 points. I was approved for it and then the following week they elevated the bonus to 90,000 points. As soon as I heard the news I messaged Chase and they gave it to me.
    • What to say: Hi, I just noticed the welcome bonus went from XXX points to XXX points on the XXXX card. I just opened mine a few days ago. Can I have the bonus matched to the new elevated bonus? Thank You.

Hope you find this helpful to your points and miles journey. Happy travels!
